Mrs. Lidia Blatz,
elementary music teacher and Bell's instructor,
visited San Augustine, a small town in Venezuela, from July 27th to August 7th with her husband and nine other Providence Baptist Church members from Plantation. This is an annual event for the Baptist Church along with another local church. Throughout the year, the children from these two churches take blankets and tie tassels on the ends after saying a prayer. Then these "prayer blankets" are sent overseas to other countries as part of their mission work. This year their Pastor decided to hand deliver them to Venezuela's children and Lidia felt blessed to be a part of this group. They joined eleven other volunteers already over there and all bunked in an old tobacco farm where hot showers were scarce.Continue...
