The street boys gathered in numbers and welcomed learning about Jesus and playing the different kind of games that our children play. Miss Sebastian found it very interesting to see that their toys and balls were hand made out of bags, string, and empty bottles. She also found it very sad to see almost every boy carried around a bottle, of some kind, filled with glue. The boys would sniff glue all day long just to keep the hunger pains away! Her group got to take about 50 boys to lunch at a local cafe twice a week which was truly a treat for these boys to get a good meal. It was also a treat for Miss Sebastian to see the boys gratitude. The two nurses helped many of the boys with bandages and antibiotic creams. For some it was the first time they had ever received any kind of medical treatment. They were also able to minister and entertain at a Juvenile Detention Center once a week and the City hospital's children's ward. Miss Sebastian felt very fortunate to be able to live a part of the Bible...Matthew 25:31-45.
