ATTENTION MCKAY SCHOLARSHIP APPLICANTS

If your child is planning to attend Zion next year using a McKay scholarship to supplement tuition, it is essential that the application process be completed by August 3, 2009.  That is the deadline established by the Florida Department of Education for you to make a final declaration where your child will be attending school in the Fall.  Applications may be accepted after this date, but late processing could cause a delay in your child starting school.  If you have any questions, please call Mrs. Dawn Johnson at 954-421-3146, extension 304.  Thank you for your prompt attention to this most important matter.

There has been a change in the dates for Summer Camp. Summer Camp will run through August 7, 2009.  This is one week earlier than previously planned.

Elementary Back-to- School Supply List

Elementary Reading List 2009-2010

Zion implements mandatory reading selections to ensure the continuance of reading over the
summer holiday period. It is imperative that your child complete the required reading prior to
his/her return for the 2009-2010 school year. These selections will help to keep skills current and
reading fluent. Your child should commence reading these books in early July. (Please do not
have your child read the selections prior to the recommended reading date. Reading earlier than
the appointed time may cause your child to forget details of the selection that will be needed upon
his/her return to school.) At the start of the new school year, the children will engage in class
discussion and basic recall of the reading material and will be administered a final evaluation.
